Salt Lake City is a mythical place. It’s stunningly beautiful, infused with history and spirit and it’s home to Salt, a furniture startup that makes modular sofas. They brought us on to help them craft their brand and stand out in an already cluttered market. 

The co-founders of Salt knew they had a great product that could fill a gap in the market between cheaply made modular sofas and high-end luxury brands. Their vision was to compete with other on-line furniture retailers in a national market, but they needed help sorting out how to do it in an authentic way that would appeal to consumers.

Few items in your home touch your life the way a sofa does. It is there every day, a witness to countless moments. You choose your sofa for the shape of your family, no matter what family means to you. Your relationship to your sofa is surprisingly personal and we thought the Salt Sofas brand should reflect that connection. We advised the founders to lean into their love for family and place. The brand we built reflects those values.

We borrowed colors from the Salt Lake desert and skies. The logo and supporting pattern reflect the crystalline structure of salt and echo the countless modular shapes a Salt Sofa can take on.
